Annual Report 2018-19
Dear Parents and Friends
It gives me great joy to stand before you to present a report of the activities of the academic year 2018-2019. We in Holy Cross live by the legacy of our founder Fr. Moreau, CSC, who set forth the unique mission for Holy Cross educators: preparing students to be useful citizens for the society and beyond. Following his footsteps Holy Cross focuses on the intellectual, physical, psychological and spiritual developments of its students. I echo the ever meaningful words of Fr. Moreau who said “the students today are the future” therefore “we do not want our students to be ignorant of anything they should know”. Hence we strive every day to do something in our power to care for our students and their holistic development.
I would like to start my report by thanking my predecessor, Bro. Santhosh, C.S.C, and Bro. Nelson, C.S.C for all the hard work they had put into building up the School & PU College. The last few years saw a lot of commendable progress and developments because of their tireless work and commitment they had for the school& PU College. I thank them sincerely for their contribution to our School & PU College.
The Students and Staff
Currently, the strength of our school & PU College is 1797 students; the school has 118 teaching and non- teaching staff. I profoundly thank all of them as it is their commitment and dedicated service that practically translates the vision and mission of Holy Cross into reality. I wish to record my deep sense of gratitude to our teaching and non- teaching staff who stand behind us in moulding and forming our students.
The school plays a prominent role in making our students geniuses and intellects in their own ways. Academic life of the school has always been our priority at Holy Cross and we attempt to create our students to excel in their studies. Preparing different categories of students for the public examination is the major task of ours at this moment. (10th State Board, 10th CBSE and II PUC students) and we do it with genuine concern and affection. We feel that we have to work hand –in-hand with one another to achieve our target and our chief objective is to attain good results. We focus now on the identified weak students who need our strong support and our continuous assessments. I always believe that School Education is nothing but constant practice and therefore we insist students to take many examinations which will help them to perform better in their public examinations and their learning becomes easy when they keep writing examinations. I humbly request all the Parents to have our 10th State Board, 10th CBSE and II PUC Students in your prayers.
Committees and Club Activities
Committees and Club activities are designed to promote learning by doing and to follow our students more closely than ever. Activities play a major role in our school life and these activities aid students to do greater things with no difficulties and hardships. Teachers are assigned to different committees and Clubs and all of them have constructively contributed to the growth of our students in one or other ways.
All celebrations and religious festivals are given a fair share of importance because they stand to promote learning. All religious festivals are celebrated to enlighten the students to value the presence of God within them and depend on God for everything.
Co- Curricular Activities
Apart from preparing the students to qualify for purely academic demands, special efforts are being made continuously to enable them to face the challenges of the competitive world and therefore 22 Co-curricular activities were conducted and those activities provide many of the students a concrete platform to express themselves well.
We all know that Yoga is very necessary and beneficial for all human beings if it is practiced and thus Holy Cross celebrated ‘Yoga Day’ on 21st June, 2018.

I thank all the students and staff who had generously contributed to lighten the sufferings of the victims of this massive tragedy. The School had contributed Rs. One lakh and this amount was handed over to Mr. Gopal, the Deputy Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Conservation is an ethic of resource use, allocation, and protection. Its primary focus is upon maintaining the health of the natural world,
